"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others." 2 Timothy 2:2

From Gordon & Becki

A few years back, we had the opportunity to ask the pastor of one of the largest churches of Eastern Europe what his ministry’s biggest need was. His answer, “Children’s ministry training. We have no idea what to do!” But he didn’t stop there. He went on to beg of us, ”Please tell your friends in America not to send one more VBS team to us. We don’t need to know what you can do for one week. We need to know what we can do for 52 weeks!” Read more.

Sponsor a Teacher – Reach Countless Children

Most of us won’t be able to hit the road and share the good news of Jesus with children in a far off land. But we all can pray, and many of us can support teachers like Alvaro so that they can do the hard, fun, and rewarding work of leading children into a growing and life-changing relationship with the Savior. In For the Long Term

Sarah Zawedde is working faithfully in her church in Uganda as the leader of the children’s ministry. But she was discouraged—she had very few trained Sunday school teachers, and very little curriculum or teaching resources. Besides that, there seemed to be a lack of interest on the part of the church leadership to deal with anything about the children’s area. Read more.

Help With the Impossible

Dickens Mugabe is a program officer, interacting with the community around him on a daily basis. He is burdened by the problems of the children he sees. Dickens is seeing the tragic rise of more and more pregnancies among younger teen girls. Many of the homes in which he visits are headed by children or teenagers. Parents are often absent, either due to long work hours, death, or abandonment. In addition to his job as a program officer, Dickens also works with his church's children's ministry. Read more.

Get Equipped

Rhonda Coolley, a children’s director in Virginia, attended KidZ at Heart’s training this year at her church. Experiencing the training with others from her church gave them unity in their approach and a chance to work together to implement what they learned. In her words, “This training is so worth the sacrifice of time and resources. Relevant, cutting-edge training to help improve the vital ministry to our children – the next generation!! Excellent training!!”

Register now for upcoming trainings in Show Low, AZ, (October 21, 2017) or near Denver, CO (December 2, 2017). Contact our Director of U.S. Training & Resources Janet Anthony, to host a training event in your area in 2018.

Unwrapping Parable Truth

PARABLE – a simple story told to illustrate a moral truth (Merriam-Webster). Jesus often used parables in his teaching. Most were simple enough for his listeners to get the point easily. Some were more complex. For us to understand, we must make the effort needed to find out what his listeners understood from the culture of their day. Read more.
