Seven of us (four returning) set off for Manzanillo, Mexico, on February 17, 2018. The first task...answering the alarm for a 1:45 a.m. ride to the airport. In all reality, most of us couldn't sleep. We were just too excited!
We conducted a second year of children's ministry training for the mamas and staff of Casa Hogar Los Angelitos and at least 12 other churches/organizations in the area. Nearly 30 people were in attendance. On a world-wide average, each person working with children impacts 50 children. More than 1,500 children were represented at the training. "Hispanics continue to account for more of the nation's overall population growth than any other race or ethnicity,” according to the Pew Research Center. KidZ at Heart’s North American Ministries brings the same quality training offered to other American churches to these Spanish-speaking Americans reaching kids for Christ. Pastor Alain Lopez of Iglesia Hispana de Brandon shares this vision and has opened his church in Valrico, FL, to host a one-day training event on September, 2018, called Corazón de Niño. If you’re journeying with your family through Matthew 5-7, you might park awhile at Matthew 5:14-16. Scripture says a lot about light; we remember that Jesus called himself the Light of the world. In these verses, note that he does not give a command first – ‘…be the light of the world.’ Rather he makes it clear that his followers are light, and he frames this in matters about whether or not the light shines clearly, uncovered and for all to see..
